Position Summary

This role is doing Chief Accountant as well

• We are looking for a results-driven and confident Financial Controller to manage and improve our organization's financial performance and direct our accounting operations in Vietnam (and potentially further countries around South-East Asia at a later stage). Duties for the Financial Controller will include managing accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, publishing management accounts and monthly group reporting, preparing statutory financial statements and coordinating with the local auditors, overseeing accounting operations, analyzing financial data, overseeing local tax compliance, preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue and cash flow, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.

• Your strategic planning and exceptional numerical proficiency as a Financial Controller will aid our organization in maintaining positive revenue and financial growth, formulating sound financial strategies, implementing proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and developing financial plans that support legal entity structuring and organizational strategy. This position will also oversee the processing, checking and approval of funding drawdowns and payment requests from third parties related to Shire Oak’s project funding and fee earning activities.

• The individual must be able to provide timely and accurate financial analysis, information and reports to support top management in decision making and preventing fraud and errors. In addition, the ideal candidate must be able to work in a multi-national and inter-cultural environment including close collaboration with peers and senior management from other locations.

• The position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer in Vietnam and functionally to the Group Financial Controller in the UK

Duties & Responsibilities

• Preparing annual budgets and monthly forecasts for the Vietnam business

• Preparing financial reports for group and management purposes

• Analyzing financial data

• Monitoring internal controls

• Overseeing and preparing income statements

• Participating in budgeting processes

• Managing financial transactions

• Streamlining accounting functions and operations

• Developing plans for financial growth

• Evaluating and managing risk

• Coordinating audit processes

• Overseeing, checking and instructing funding drawdowns from Shire Oak’s funding partners as requested by the Transaction Team

• Overseeing, checking and instructing payment requests from Shire Oak’s channel partners as requested by the Transaction Team

• Overseeing, checking and instructing receipt and payment of development fees and other service-related payments in accordance with the development agreements Shire Oak is working under as requested by the Transaction Team

• Managing contractual agreements with agents, introducer and office suppliers (purchasing agreements)

• Liaise closely with key contacts of UK head office and other subsidiaries on demand

• Working with stakeholders / business partners across functions to understand the tax impact of business operation, monitor and advise on tax related matters, identify opportunities for process improvement, highlight potential non-compliance risks, tax saving opportunities and provide recommendation

• Managing proficiently government authorities on tax audit, tax enquiry, and other correspondence in the interest of the employer

• Liaise with internal departments and carry-out tasks concerning payment and billing activities

• Staying updated on changes in accounting, tax & other finance related regulations

• Assist Board of Directors in financial decision making

• Driving process improvement and policy development initiatives in that function

• Performing other departmental duties as required

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

• A strong understanding of International and Vietnamese Accounting Standards

• At least 7 years' relevant experience in functions such as auditing, accounting, corporate advisory, entity structuring, finance management...

• Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills

• Proficient with numbers and task orientated

• Understanding major aspects of business administration

• Dynamic work attitude with focus on getting things done

• Strong leadership qualities

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Compliance oriented

• Proficiency in accounting software

• Analytical skills

• Fluent spoken and written English

Desirable

• An interest in renewable energy
