1. Lead and have responsibility for developing, implementing and managing annual strategic, financial, innovation and operating plans for a brand or portfolio of brands in conjunction with the company goal.
2. Actively managing brand P&L
3. Partnering with internal departments to develop trade, retail, and products strategies to meet customer objectives.
4. Build product assortments that reflect the preferences of a specific consumer segment, considering price, quality, visual aesthetic, lifestyle and other factors.
5. Manage and develop a team of strong product merchants/buyers representing multiple categories; Sale operators and marketers.
6. Maintain an optimized product lines on a SKU basis and identifying opportunities to recommend actions that enhance volume and profitability. Demonstrate deep understanding of P&L drivers and pricing.
7. Develop and strengthen relationships with key supplier and supply chain partners
8. Lead development/stewardship of brand positioning, innovation, and messaging for the brand. Apply strategic thinking throughout ideation, conceptualization for brand innovations
9. Develop annual marketing plans, manage marketing budget and resource allocation across the marketing mix
10. Successfully manage the creative process with partner agencies & designers to deliver breakthrough ideas and brand concept
11. Manage marketing budget and ROI.
12. Effectively integrate business plan with those of key cross-functional peer leaders to align activities across the organization.
13. Be a strong partner and leader to third party agency teams; providing a clear vision and concise direction and feedback that drives strong strategic plans and flawless implementation.
14. Work with analytics team to review monthly brand health and business performance
15. Responsible for periodic business reviews, market assessments and ROI/performance analysis to identify any actions/learning and measure plan progress
16. Brand Development Manager powers: is allowed to decide on its own to close within the C-level approved range. And will be reviewed quarterly if there is any change from the market perspective

1. Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA a plus. 5+ year of experience in business development and operation. Candidates must have proven track record of being a successful leader that is able to think differently, to deliver breakthrough and successful brand development strategies and tactical execution.
2. Marketing Concepts: Knowledge of and ability to apply basic marketing concepts (e.g., brand positioning, brand architecture, SWOT Analysis, competitive assessment, marketing objectives/strategies, consumer segmentation) used in the development of marketing plans.
3. Delivering Relevant Local Consumer Strategies: Making consumers and their needs the primary focus of the business; developing, evaluating and selecting consumer-based actions that maximize long-term, profitable volume.
4. Creative Concept Evaluation: Ability to evaluate creative concepts and executions based on creativity, strategic alignment and consumer impact.
5. Analytical Rigor: Ability to utilize syndicated, custom and secondary research to identify opportunities / issues for the business and implications to brand plans and marketing tactics.
6. Bold, embraces risk, and want to solve the tough problems that other competitors may fear
7. Excited to build from the ground up with an eye on creating viable brand concepts
8. Achievement-driven with a focus on results and business performance, even when it means pushing back and challenging the status quo, albeit in a respectful manner.
9. Someone who thrives in a high-energy, fast-paced, collaborative environment and who treats team members and agency partners with respect.
10. Must possess strong business judgment, leadership and integrity.
11. Should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business.
12. Should foster innovative thinking, drive critical decisions, hold business partners accountable, and be able to consistently deliver results.
13. A self-starter who holds themselves and their team accountable for performance while still able to keep it fun!
14. Must be able to work with all levels of the organization and must be able to adapt to various work styles
