Bangkor Technologies Purchases SCT Electronics
Bangkor Technologies finally stepped forward and confirmed what many had already suspected: its recent purchase of Malaysian electronics manufacturer, SCT Electronics. Allen Nedrickson, president of the Bangkor group, stated this morning at a press conference that ownership of SCT transferred to Bangkor last Tuesday. "It is our hope that this transfer of ownership goes as smoothly as possible. We have the utmost respect for SCT and hope that this partnership will open up even bigger and better opportunities in the Southeast Asian market". The cost of the purchase is estimated at nearly 1.8 billion dollars by leading financial experts, although Bangkor has yet to confirm any numbers.
Rumors of the acquisition were already circulating before the announcement. The news comes as no surprise, as SCT was reporting losses of more than 10 millon dollars over that past two quarters. Most experts believed that a sale or takeover was imminent, as SCT claimed to have a debt of more than 150 million dollars.
Nedrickson also stated that Bangkor has no immediate plans for restructuring. "We need to carry out research on productivity first". Nedrickson said there is "obviously somethine wrong" with the company structure, but will not make any sharp changes until additional studies have been conducted. However, most financial analysts predict that reductions will be absolutely necessary to make SCT profitable, as the company now employs more than 3000 people.

SUBJECT: Shipment to Macau
DATE: January 7
I am the relocation manager for Divine Investment Group. We currently have a branch office in Seoul, which we plan to move to Macau at the beginning of March. We are looking for a dependable relocation company to carry out the move. Our current moving company is Interline Moving, and they do not have as many connections in Asia as your company, which tends to hold things up. There will be three separate shipments, with the first tentatively scheduled for the end of February.
The first two shipments will include office furnishings and computer equipment, and our third shipment will be documents. I do not believe any of the shipments separately will qualify for your discount. However, I believe the weight of all three shipments together will be above your required minimum. In this case, would you be willing to offer us the reduced shipping rate?
Please contact me at your earliest convenience so that we can discuss your prices in detail.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Barry Humphries.

Royal Suites
53 East Broadway, New York, NY 10013
Dear Ms. Bundy,
I have been renting a two-bedroom apartment in Royal Suites for the past ten years. I believe I've been an exceptional tenant and have always paid my rent and building fees in a timely manner.
Last week on January 4, I had some trouble with the heating system in my apartment. I contacted Al O'Neil from maintenance and he came up to take a look at the problem. He informed me that my control box was broken and that it would have to be replaced. I told him to go ahead and replace it, which he did the following day.
Upon completing the work, Mr. O'Neil presented me with a bill for the cost of the parts, explaining that the building only pays for the cost of his labor. However, according to my rental contract, the cost of parts must be paid by Royal Suites. Therefore, I am entitled to receive $160 in compensation for the money I paid for the parts. Please look into this matter right away. You may call me or contact me by e-mail at ksagal@eemail.com.
Sincerely,
Katie Sagal.
